A Great Disaster

Fresh, distinctive music from the Appalachian region

A Great Disaster is based out of the Tri-Cities Region of East Tennessee. Founding member and singer/songwriter Zach Ross is responsible for the material and sound of the group. A Great Disaster blends concepts borrowed from folk, independent rock, bluegrass, soul, and pop music creating a distinctive musical synthesis that is truly their own. Other members of the band include drummer George Cole, bassist and singer Tyler Luttrell, guitarist and cellist James West, Evie Andrus on fiddle and mandolin and Walker Mallory on keyboards, accordion and saxophone. Despite their youth, the band brings years of musical experience and depth. Their debut recording, Revive LP, released in early April 2011 and is gained the attention of many listeners in their area. Their following record, "What We Might Find" released in September of 2012 and shows a clear development and progression from Revive LP while not departing entirely from their Appalachian roots and maintaining the song to song dynamic contrast shown in their first record. Their youthful energy is illustrated on stage for a concert experience like none other. Read more on Last.fm.
