William Hallworth-Cook, known as desert sand feels warm at night or dsfwan is a vaporwave artist and producer from the United Kingdom.

William began making sample-based slushwave in 2018 as desert sand feels warm at night, although, before that, William had been making small side projects, "mostly for fun", exploring deep house and trance genres, which led him to discover ambient music and the realm of vaporwave and dreampunk.

William was able to evolve from producing sample-based slushwave in a year to going sample-free, notably beginning to utilize his own voice as background vocals to his music, as seen on his first sample-free album, 水​に​流​す. With this, he was able to immerse himself in slush and feel that his own expressions were "radiating from this sound palette" and that he was able to express himself in another form, having his music be symbolic of his own emotion and thought.
