The first album, Naked, was an acoustic record made by a punk band (even if they did have a brand new name) and it was always going to be a big jump for any Sink fans to make. New label boss, Christof Ellinghaus, from Berlin-based City Slang Records, suggested that the band give full reign to their country/folk leanings and make an acoustic record along the lines of label mates Yo La Tengo's recently released Fakebook album. The formula worked well for YLT, but Naked probably just wasn't quirky enough to be accepted in the same spirit.
