waiai (originally _yi.) is a music producer that has been active on several commercial media industries, ranging from advertising to video games. Starting of his music career, he became known for his unique music style, a blend between acid jazz, EDM and pop harmonies constructed purely by sound collage sampling (loosely called 'glitch pop'); a style that helped him come in contact with Japan's bustling creative community, in which he has been active ever since. Nowadays, his music career has diverged into collaborations with talented singers, like Punipunidenki and Especia's HALLCA, reinventing styles from the past, like new wave and new jack swing into the sound sphere of the 21st century, while still maintaining the desire to create unique musical and narrative experiences.
