50 / 50 Lyrics

Sometimes you gotta go a little bit further than halfway
Sometimes you just gotta settle for less than a fair trade
Sometimes you gotta pretend you're wrong and say okay
Baby, yeah it's all right to be wrong sometimes just to get along

Love ain't always 50/50
It's a give more than you take
Kinda old and feel good feeling
Like the hurry up and wait
Till she's all dolled up and worthy of a black Mercedes Benz
But she climbs up in your Chevy for the hundredth time again
Ain't no doubt that you got lucky
Find a girl that's so damn pretty
Love ain't always 50/50
Love ain't always 50/50

Sometimes you don't always get what you ask for
Sometimes you're going to end up a day late in the dollar store
Sometimes you're on a chase to buy her something you can't afford
Trying to make up for something, trying to pay back what you messed up
But she'd never want that

Love ain't always 50/50
It's a give more than you take
Kinda old and feel good feeling
Like the hurry up and wait
Till she's all dolled up and worthy of a black Mercedes Benz
But she climbs up in your Chevy for the hundredth time again
Ain't no doubt that you got lucky
Find a girl that's so damn pretty
Love ain't always 50/50
Love ain't always 50/50

Some days you rain other days she shines
But that's alright cuz that's just life

Love ain't always 50/50
It's a give more than you take
Kinda old and feel good feeling
Like the hurry up and wait
Till she's all dolled up and worthy of a black Mercedes Benz
But she climbs up in your Chevy for the hundredth time again
Ain't no doubt that you got lucky
Find a girl that's so damn pretty
Love ain't always 50/50
Love ain't always 50/50
Love ain't always 50/50
Love ain't always 50/50

To Dallas Smith, country music has always been about the “special combination of a voice and song.” After spending nearly 10 years fronting Default, Smith is stepping out on his own, into the world of Country.

While in Nashville, Smith worked with acclaimed songwriter/producer Zac Maloy (Carrie Underwood, James Blunt), Grammy nominated songwriter Rodney Clawson, and Chris Tompkins (Carrie Underwood). The album is being produced by Joey Moi, who co-produced Jake Owen’s latest album, including his fastest-rising top 3 single “Barefoot Blue Jean Night”.

“I’ve always chosen and written songs with challenging vocals that I love to sing,” Smith says, while explaining what new, and devoted fans can expect to hear with his upcoming album.
