HingeFreel was originally trained in the world of analogue mixing desks & 2″ tape. Having made his career in sound design and post production for multimedia & film, he has developed strong ideas on his best creative process; “I like to work within constraints, and now that technology has developed so much a lot of these are self imposed (as opposed to when I first started writing music years ago).”

With influences including My Bloody Valentine, Apparat, Brian Eno and Mogwai, HingeFreel mixes broad cinematic themes with off-kilter, upfront beats and live instrumentation, this music is residing comfortably in the electronic soundscape, dipping just one toe in the waters of post-rock.
