Sara Routh is from Norwalk, Iowa where her love of music began in the womb. Her father, Ron, a jazz drummer and her mother, Katie, a singer, met in a Regional Dance Band, where they traveled the midwest and shared their love and talent for the fantastic older dance charts. Growing up as the child of two musicians was an amazing gift. There was always some kind of music in the air.

Sara went to Simpson College in Indianola, Iowa where she received her Bachelore in Music Education. She didn't do much with her degree but, did go on to working with children at Smouse Opportunity School in Des Moines, Iowa. At the same time she was waiting tables and directing four church choirs at Immanuel United Methodist Church in Urbandale, Iowa. So many opportunities and so busy she felt lost in her own world. Next step was to move out of Iowa.

New York City was the next destination. Sara went on to study theatre and perform in Manhatten. Still waiting tables and scraping to get by. While living in Queens she did learn a lot about the game of pool though! Many blessings go out to McCaffery & Burkes Bar! New York was amazing for the time being but, something was missing. Her music! Next stop... Los Angeles.

Sara now resides in Los Angeles, California where she has been writing and performing steadily for about four years. Performing in venues all over Los Angeles county. The Viper Room, Genghis Cohen, The Key Club, Zen Sushi, El Cid's, Molly Malone's and Tangier's are just a few. She has recently taken up a residency position at The Cat Club every third tuesday of every month.

She continues to grow in her professional music career. In February 2006, she won the Best Folk Artist of the Year award from the Southern California Music Awards. June, 2006 Sara's song "You're Never Gone" was included in the Sounds of Superman album. Her song "Sitting on My Window" was featured on the WB's hit show Everwood and in November of 2006, she was honoured to perform at The Kennedy Center in Washington D.C. 2007 started out with many, many gigs and the SOCAL Live Acoustic Competition where she was a finalist for Best Female Performer.
