Christopher Ryman’s creativity and flair for songwriting first caught the public’s attention as lead vocalist, pianist and guitarist of the Cardiff (UK) five-piece band Westgate Street.

During their time together they enjoyed airtime on British radio and television, and were invited to support Damien Rice & Lisa Hannigan, JJ72 and Lost Prophets.

"Ryman's voice innocently flies to its falsetto on frail wings, but with the power to hit the listener like a juggernaut." [BBC Online]

"When Ryman opens his mouth to sing it is more than just a song or note that you hear, it is literally a force that cuts your soul to pieces and then restores you to life again." [Ruby Sessions, Dublin]

"[Ryman] opened his mouth and sang.....to a sudden silence...it would be unfair to compare him to Damien Rice or Jeff Buckley as it does not do him justice... [Sheila Dooley, The Underground Sessions]

"A rare breed indeed...a musician who quietly lays bare the soul. Superbly crafted melodies with an emotive quality that envelops the listener. There is no pretence here, just sincere, sensitive, yet forceful songs, abridged life stories, and conversations with the unseen..." [Kenneth Killeen, Boom Boom Room] Read more on Last.fm.
