NotSmirks is the internet moniker and music project of Johnathan Petitte which is based in Arizona. NotSmirks began his creative journey under the alias over a decade ago with a YouTube channel of the same name. The channel showcased surreal, satirical animations often created with GoAnimate, which helped build him a strong following.

Over time, NotSmirks expanded his creative work beyond video making, delving into electronic music under the same moniker, producing sample-heavy compositions that explore genres from glitchy, experimental beats to ambient soundscapes.

Though being born and currently residing in Arizona, NotSmirks grew up and started his artistic journey in Wisconsin, which is where most of his influence comes from.
