Since the mid 90’s the French Itallion dj SP has become one of the most relevant hiphop dj’s in the Netherlands, fathering his unique raw, soulfull style of quickmixing and blending to a whole generation of dj’s that came after him.

SP got his first break in the summer of 1996 when KC the Funkaholic recognized his talents and invited him to spin at the legendary Bassline party. Teamed up with Mr. Wix and Masta Lee to form dj team the Desperado’s one year later and started hosting national Hip Hop radioshow Boombap Radio on Kink FM alongside Mr Wix and Edzon.

During the same period he was manager of Fat Beats Amsterdam and played numerous parties throughout the country. He started hosting Amsterdam’s number one hiphop party Appelsap in 2000 with succes and through the years dj SP has played alongside veteran dj’s and acts like Jazzy Jeff, Cash Money, DJ Riz and performed with artists like Pharoah Monche, Mos Def & Weldon Irvine and has played almost every major venue, festival and party in the Netherlands as well as in London, Prague, Glasgow, Belgium, Germany, France, Switzerland, New York and Kopenhagen.

dj SP continues to invent musical styles that display his creative expertise at Appletree Records where he will create several mixtapes called Appletree Smoothies showcasing the Appletree artists and similiar sound.
