Bruce Hathcock was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. After doing a few homeless bouts and selling weed, he was recognized and removed from the streets. Bruce Hathcock’s diverse musical influences range from Joni Mitchell, Jimi Hendrix, George Benson, Bob James, Prince to rap icons such as N.W.A and Bone Thugs-n-Harmony. He has demonstrated his diverse influences by way of his own production, lyrically, as a multi-instrumentalist and vocalist.
Bruce has been featured on several independent rap projects, mix cd’s including LA”s famous DJ Warrior Mix, Marilyn Manson, Missy Elliot, Eazy E, Pharcyde, Randy Jackson, Angie Stone, Lady of Rage, Another Level, Royce the 59, Sleepy Brown, Akon, Jr.,Murs, Medusa, Ozomatli, Santana Jr., Dj Elusive, Loose Ends, and many more.
Bruce released his own mix cd titled ‘Explicit’ whilst being the opening acts for major artist including Bone Thugs-n-Harmony – one of the major highlights from his career thus far, connecting with Bone Thugs-n-Harmony producer DJ U-Neek who is responsible for hits such as Thuggish Ruggish Bone, First Of The Month and the Grammy award-winning Crossroads(remix).
U-Neek liked Bruce’s style and understood what Bruce was doing and knew he could add some of his Thuggish flava to the tracks. U-Neek also knew the major labels wouldn’t catch the vision for an artist like Bruce Hathcock. After an immediate bond over music and musical vision, Bruce and U-Neek went to work immediately executive producing and co-producing alongside Bruce. Read more on Last.fm.
