No, he isn’t Belgian actually, the little French lad from Nevers. He borrowed his stage name from a neighbourhood in Paris, just between Pigalle and Barbus. After first starting out in the film business (he used to be a cameraman), Joseph d’Anvers decided to follow his musical instincts.
