Big Sky Lyrics

Free as a highway
Wild as the wind
I can hear her callin' my name
Callin' me home again

Wide open spaces
Cool mountain breezes
Reachin' down to save my soul
Take these city blues away
The closest thing to heaven that you'll find
Headin' for the big sky

Won't you come with me
We'll find a reason
Reason to believe again
There's still a paradise
The closest thing to heaven that you'll find
Headin' for the big sky

It seems like all we do is talk
Bout the lives people walk away from
Let's pack the car and leave tonight
Drive until the city lights fade, fade, fade
Let 'em fade away

Wide open spaces
Cool mountain breezes
Reachin' down to save my soul
Take these city blues away
The closest thing to heaven that you'll find
Headin' for the big sky
The closest thing to heaven that you'll find

Big sky
Big sky
Big sky

Americana band The Wild Feathers formed in Austin, TX in 2010; when members Ricky Young, Joel King, Ben Dumas, Taylor Burns and Preston Wimberly met through coincidence, mutual friends, and a shared love of the classics: Petty, Dylan, Cash, The Band, Allman Bros, Neil Young and Willie Nelson. The young band spent the next year honing their sound and touring around the country, sharing the stage with Delta Spirit, Surfer Blood and The Heavy, even landing an opening spot on Paul Simon's 2011 fall tour. The band signed with Warner Bros. Records in 2013, and have released three albums on that label: their eponymous major-label debut hit the streets in the summer of 2013: "The Wild Feathers" (2013), "Lonely is a Lifetime" (2016), and "Greetings from the Neon Frontier" (their debut on Warner sublabel Reprise Records).
