Swedish singer/songwriter Jesper Lindell broke out in 2017 with a debut EP that combined elements of vintage blue-eyed soul and warm-toned indie rock with folk influences. His first full-length, Everyday Dreams, appeared two years later on the Alive Records label.
A native of Ludvika, in the middle of Sweden, Lindell's musical journey began in his teens, when he played bass and guitar, and fronted a handful of rock bands. Eventually striking out on his own, he teamed up with producer Benkt Söderberg, father of acclaimed Swedish indie folk sister duo First Aid Kit, to record his first EP, Little Less Blue. Featuring harmonies from the two Söderberg sisters, Klara and Johanna, Lindell's soulful retro-rock sound struck a chord with Swedish audiences and he spent the next year or two touring the country and sharing stages with touring American artists like Justin Townes Earle and Andrew Combs. For his full-length debut, Lindell collaborated with Blues Pills bassist, Zack Anderson, emerging with a set that pitted bluesy rock with horn-laden Van Morrison-style soul.
