There are currently at least 4 acts performing as Signals.

1) Signals is an instrumental project led by former BLANKEY JET CITY and current PONTIACS bassist 照井利幸 (Terui Toshiyuki). In addition to writing all of the band’s tunes, Terui plays acoustic guitar. The other two members are 椎野恭一 (Kyōichi Shiino) on drums and 勝井祐二 (Katsuki Yūji) on violin. The first Signals album, Lapis Sky, was the first material to be produced by WELD MUSIC CHAMBER.

2) Signals is a band that includes cousins Jon and Bill Gray and Jacob Cooper. All three are former touring members of The Mae Shi. The band has a controversial start, as the 3 were the last remaining touring members of the Mae Shi set to perform at Pitchfork Festival 2009 they announced the demise of the Mae Shi and they would continue to perform as Signals, just the three.

They played publicly for the first time as Signals for Pitchfork Festival 2009, where they also played as the Mae Shi for the last time.

3) Signals was formed by Chris Gowers (Karina ESP Trome Records) and Phil Julian (Cheapmachines, Authorised Version) during summer 2004, initially to work on a collaborative performance for the 2004 London Headphone Festival. Following a few more live collaborations Mark Beazley of Rothko joined Signals in November 2005 cementing the core line-up.

Signals instrumentation:
Chris Gowers: Bowed Electric Guitar
Mark Beazley: Bass Guitar
Phil Julian: Bowed Gong/Cymbal/Temple Bowls, Electronics, Computers

Signals have forthcoming releases on Authorised Version and Trace Recordings

4) Signals was comprised of Michael "Jag" Jagmin (ex-A Skylit Drive) & Jonathan Kintz (ex-Of Mice & Men) in 2017, sometime after Michael's departure from A Skylit Drive due to some disagreements within the band. Debut single The New American Religion has been released on May 20, 2018. Read more on Last.fm.
