Candy66 is a Venezuelan alternative metal band formed in 1998, consisting of vocalist and second guitarist Jean Carlo De Oliveira, Jose Morantes on guitar, Ray Diaz on bass, Gustavo Morantes on drums and percussion, and Let Arteaga on guitar and backing vocals. The band draws inspiration from other artists such as Faint No More, Ozzy Osbourne, Korn, Sepultura, Pantera, and Nirvana. Candy66 received the award for best metal band in Venezuela in 2002 and 2003, has shared the stage with bands such as Korn, Slipknot, and Papa Roach, and has played outside their homeland in the United States, Colombia, and Bonaire.

The band's first demo, “Solo” and “A+,” was recorded at RM Studios. These were their first songs, and by 1999, the band had already begun recording their first album, “P.O.P= Para otras personas” (For Other People), a 13-song album including an intro that would open doors for the band.

Since their triumph at the new bands festival in 2000, their participation in the prestigious Caracas Pop national festival in 2002, an extensive tour lasting almost three years, “Rancho Tour 2001-2003,” which visited almost every corner of the country, and special appearances at the SXSW Festival 2001 in Austin, Texas, and the Bonaire International Band Festival 2002, all these tours and concerts opened up the opportunity for thousands of people to get to know the music of candy66.

In 2003, they began recording their second and most popular album, “A+,” which rose to fame thanks to songs such as “Fe,” “Bandera,” “Ceniza,” and “Niño.” The band also released their first official video clip for “Fe.” In 2005, they released their first live album, “5 Mundos.”

In 2009, with significant changes in the lineup, they released their third studio album, “Evolutio,” which shone with songs such as “Somos Otros,” “Vivimos Por Vivir,” and “Resurrección.”

In 2010, they recorded “Bits Sessions DVD,” which contains acoustic versions of songs from “A+” and “P.O.P,” as well as “Batalla,” which would be part of their next studio album.

In 2013, the band released “Nueva Guerra,” an album containing nine tracks, four of which were singles: “Antisocial,” “Invisible,” “A 4km,” and “No Sere Un Siervo De Tu Horror.”

After this release, they would release several singles, such as “No Mas Violencia,” “Sobras en el sol,” “Estelar,” “Hijos Del Abismo,” “A tu Nombre,” “Losers,” and “S.O.S.”
