Ibiza Pareo is a duo formed by two former YiLet (Ani Castoldi and Marina La Grasta) who decided to enter the dancefloor through the Hi-Fi door. With a much more accomplished production - not only in terms of technical but also formal work - than in their previous projects, the eponymous debut album traces diverse influences in terms of a constant trance that refers to Xxyyxx, Grimes and The Fin, as well as Melody's Echo Chamber.

The songs unfold with a rhythm that intermingles the fundamental importance of bass and drums but also a rich diversity of exotic sounds -pianos, marimbas and flutes, very percussive but still melodic- that transport the dance to beaches far away from the bolichero smoke.

The album, produced in collaboration with Ismael Pinkler, balances very well the different spaces to which it can transport us, and makes use of the strong potential of the voices to consolidate catchy songs with resonant melodies, full of reverb and delay. Thus, the music leaves a lot of space for the instrumentation and the phonetic value of the language in abstract lyrics that point to the same beat.

Fortunately, the energy of this first album can be understood as a continuity with the previous projects of its members -both YiLet and Rumanians- with an air of freshness, as if they had harvested a more concrete language in which to express their intentions to make us dance.
