As the firstborn of 5 Air Force brats Lloyd had lived in 5 different states & Nova Scotia by the time he was 6 years old. Including Izmir, Turkey for 3 years where, in 1968, he swam from Asia to Europe as a member of the Boy Scouts! Then 3 years at the Air Force Academy in Colorado returning to his home state of Ohio in 1972. He suspects all this travel early on in his life has given him a bit of the "wanderlust". He began, as he says, "...practicing/playing/practicing..." music since the 3rd grade, picked up the cornet/trumpet in seventh grade, harmonica around the 9th grade. He started on the guitar as an "old man" of 25 and began composing in the mid-80's, releasing an 'original, "traditional" Christmas song' titled "'S Christmas" in 1988. He has always been passionate about music and says, "I think it is one of the highest forms of creativity & expression that humanity can achieve." His influences range from Mozart, Bach, "...and all those other long-haired cats...", to the more contemporary Beatles, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Steppenwolf, Harry Nilsson and "...all THOSE, oftentimes, long-haired cats!", as well as Grace Slick, Kate Bush, Laurie Anderson, Tori Amos, and his list goes on and on. Like: Paginini, Cuervo Gold and Fine Columbian, Jefferson Airplane, Grateful Dead, Jethro Tull, CSN&Y, David Bowie, Starship, Jewel, Carlos Santana, James Taylor, The Who...etc. Lloyd's personal musical sound, although somewhat an amalgam of this variety and spectrum of influences, does however mostly transcend these into a space recognisably his own. Lloyd always seems to have two or three projects going at any given time. His most recent release, and rather a departure from his usual artistic offerings is called "Ring Tone Nation", an album of 98 ringtones plus a video or two and other extras. One of his current projects is titled "Experimental Asylum" with a tentative release date of August 2010. Finally, as always, Lloyd wishes all of you, "Peace and Music!" Read more on Last.fm.
