Formed as a secret project by an unknown pair of musicians who refer to themselves only as "Clock" and "Work", Clock:Work hails from Tucson, Arizona and released it's debut album, "Somewhere to Be" in 2004. The band members, who have recorded, produced, engineered, and mixed all five of their albums on their own, have since disowned this album, claiming that while the songwriting was certainly solid the production quality was seriously lacking.

The members of Clock:Work have granted only one interview thus far during their 5 year career and it was for a local, independently run magazine known as "Variable Ink". When asked why the band was so secretive and tried so hard to prevent wider exposure of their music, member Clock responded with what would hence-forth become known as the Clock:Work manifesto:

"We know we're good," Clock replied, "so we don't need to put ourselves on display for the rest of the world to vindicate our beliefs. When the time is right we'll worry about promotion and distribution, right now all we care about is the music. We intend to become the greatest band the world has never heard of and we ask all our fans out there to work with us towards this goal. Don't spread the word except among your closest friends, don't start groups or internet sites or anything like that. There is a master plan and when the time is right, the world will hear."
