Clean the House Lyrics

Man I opened my eyes now i'm sorry yea yea
Oh the vision i had could not compare
So maybe i stay for a while I don't know
The dream she keeps calling so i got to go

Could tap on my window, knock on my door,
The lights are on but nobody's home.
Pickin' up the pieces, where do we start,
Can't seem to do much with this broken heart
Cleanin' the house man

Well thats all i'm tryin to do,
Get up from the bottom,
It's taken some time to get through
How am i gonna leave you
How am i gonna leave you

Man I opened my eyes now i'm sorry yea yea
Oh the vision i had could not compare
So maybe i stay for a while I don't know
The dream she keeps calling so i got to go

It all gets cold, reality hits,
I think i'm gonna stay on these shores for a bit,
To catch the last rays, walk in the sun,
So i don't feel like its over,
before before

Fat Freddy's Drop is a 7 piece live Dub/Reggae band from Wellington, New Zealand. Founded in 2001, the current lineup consists of DJ Fitchie, Joe Dukie, Toby Chang, HoPepa, Chopper Reedz, Jetlag Johnson, and Dobie Blaze. The name "Fat Freddy's Drop" is a reference to a piece of blotter art that was circulating in the NZ dance scene in the late 90's.

Fat Freddy's Drop have now released their second major studio album, Dr Boondigga & The Big BW - shipping GOLD on the first day of release on 26th May 2009. Featuring Art & Design by Otis Frizzell, the album features nine fresh phat tracks that span soul, dub, reggae, techno, blues flavors.

The group's first major release was a live album, Live at the Matterhorn, a lengthy jam session recorded in a popular Wellington night club. Their first studio album, Based on a True Story was released in 2005. After only a day of release it had gone gold and was number one in the New Zealand album charts despite having little advertising or marketing. The album's first single, "Wandering Eye", spent 17 weeks in the RIANZ Top 40 Singles Chart and peaked at number six.

Freddy's dominated the 2005 New Zealand Music Awards, taking Best Group, Best Album, Best New Zealand Roots Group and the Peoples Choice Award. On December 18, 2005 the group were awarded the Worldwide "Album of the Year Award", as voted for by over 20,000 listeners of Gilles Peterson's BBC Radio 1 'Worldwide' show.

They won three awards at the 2006 New Zealand Music Awards (18 October). The People's Choice Award, the Highest Selling NZ Album ([album/artist=fat freddy's drop]Based On A True Story[album/artist]) and Best Music Video for the single Wandering Eye.

Midnight Marauders and Hope both scaled to the number one spot on Gilles Peterson’s top twenty Worldwide picks in 2002 and 2003 respectively.
