The band was set up back in January 1991, with a young line-up formed by friends who were between 15 and 17 years old, who shared similar musical tastes. They recorded their first demo on a four track with Paco “Loco” (later on a renowned Spanish producer). Its sound wasn’t defined yet, but even so they got to the fourth place on the Rock de Lux magazine national Demo Contest.

One of those songs was chosen to be released on an EP along with three other bands, which appeared in December on Subterfuge label. In spite of some changes in their line-up, they record what will be their first four-song single on the same label and with the same producer, though their sound is already showing the influence of bands like SONIC YOUTH, MY BLOODY VALENTINE, DINOSAUR JR... and they play the finals on the Villa de Bilbao Contest, one of the most important in Spain.

In September 1993, with Elefant Records as their new company, they get into Paco Loco’s studios to record their expected first album, “Chandal”, which is released on May 94. They play in Asturias, Madrid, Pradejón (with YOUNG FRESH FELLOWS and YO LA TENGO) and they tour all over Spain in the beginning of 1995, whilst they collaborate with other bands (PENELOPE TRIP, YOGUR, MANTA RAY, MOCKIN’ BIRDS).

“Goma” seven inch single will be ELIMINATOR JR’s last release. Here they show a change in composition, adding string arrangements and lots of details, anticipating the subsequent records of Rafa and Borja as (simply) JR.
