Nikki Kaelar, better known by his stage name Varien, is an American composer, producer, and multi-instrumentalist. Varien has incorporated or experimented with styles of industrial, metal, orchestral, neofolk, and ambient music. He is known for his work on film soundtracks, along with his unconventional approach to electronic music, including many live instruments not normally found on tracks within his genres.

He has previously released music under the alias Halo Nova on the Monstercat record label, as well as under his full name. His production style has been compared to and influenced in part by artists such as Trent Reznor and Nine Inch Nails. Read more on Last.fm.
