ATOM STRANGE began in the winter of 2006 after Alex Rude parted ways with some bandmates and started looking for suitable musicians that could share his vision of forming a rock band that was inspired by science fiction and intentionally tries to avoid all the cliche’s normally abused in the hard rock genre. Rick Dunn answered an ad looking for a singer and the band ’s core creative team was born. ATOM STRANGE’s debut was released in July 2007. The juxtaposition of the odd but hook laden riffs with accessible melodies makes for what is now clearly the ATOM STRANGE sound. The band went on to play shows all over the east coast in support of the debut. The following year the band settled in to write the songs for their next release entitled “Cosmic Disturbance”. While writing the record, ATOM STRANGE toured the east coast again playing everywhere that would let them. They were honored to open shows for the likes of KING’s X and LA Guns, often out-drawing the headliners. By the end of 2009, all the songs for “Cosmic Disturbance” were finished and in March 2010, ATOM STRANGE played NYC’s famous Gramercy Theater to celebrate it’s release to a sold out crowd. Shortly afterwards, personnel changed and in came Vinnie Larocca on drums. They have just released their third highly anticipated album, “The Lost Cosmonauts”.

ATOM STRANGE and the HI-FI SCI-FI movement they have pioneered is becoming an evolution in musical genres. Blending substance, groove, depth and style with top notch recording fidelity backed by engaging, big venue stage presence truly makes ATOM STRANGE a force to be reckoned with.

inspired hard rock, garagey,yet waay beyond that! no posers,these boys, opened for Kings X in hartford and just kicked ASS! very ballzy rendition of the Beatles 'come together'(which, honestly, i was hoping sucked) was what really got my attention! good,good stuff!
