There are two bands with the name Bionic
One The first is British musician, singer, songwriter, rapper and record producer, Bionic; born on the 23rd September 1993 in London, England, United Kingdom.
Attending choir sessions at a tender age driven by his mum's passion towards it bolstered his love for music. This coaxed him into experimenting with beats and electronic production from the age of 14 following his discovery of the possibilities using logic pro via online recommendations. Some of his Inspirations include Pharrell Williams, Labrinth, Travi$ Scott and more.
In 2012, Bionic was balancing between university lectures whilst focusing on his musical career/engineering for various acts. He studied a BSc in Music Technology, graduating in 2015. He was awarded a scholarship, thus studying a Masters in Popular Music (Production), graduating in 2016.
Bionic’s first full-length project, a single titled Change, was self-released in June 2018. This was well received, generally receiving positive views. The single was Mixed by Erik Madrid, (the genius behind Khalid "American Teen", Demi Lovato "Sober", Charlie XCX "5 In The Morning" and many more major records). Mastered by Chris Gehringer
Bionic
Two The second is a Montreal based punk rock band spearheaded by guitarist Jonathan Cummins after he left legendary A&M recording artists The Doughboys. Bionic released their self-titled debut co-produced by Glen Robinson (The Ramones, Voivod) to critical acclaim.
After years of touring across Canada, Europe and the States alongside such artists as Tricky Woo, Priestess, Nashville Pussy, Danko Jones and even Kiss, Bionic released their second album Deliverance to even greater praise. The shining review in the world's foremost metal magazine Kerrang! led to their sold out performance in what was their South By Southwest debut.
Their third and latest album Black Blood, released by Signed By Force Records, sees them breaking new ground with their own brutalizing mix of punk meets 70’s rock with stabs of Devo and psychedelia while still keeping the explosive, juggernaut intensity that their live shows are renowned for.
Despite being known as one of Canada's hardest touring bands, this hasn't stopped the band members from pursuing equally acclaimed side projects including session work and live performances with The Besnard Lakes and Le Nombre as well as Jonathan's production work for Tricky Woo, Starvin Hungry and The Hot Springs.
