Raw, cold, dark, suffocating, cavernous, and furious. This album was sent from Baltimore, Maryland, but sounds more like it came from some shadowy, foggy forest in the middle of nowhere. The reverb and raw fuzziness guarantee an atmospheric listen, while the roaring vocals and pummeling drums bring a level of brutality I haven't heard in quite some time. It's rare that any band, Christian or secular, with a name such as "Satan Destroyer" can live up to the hype implied by its name, but here it is!
Kind of tempted to call this "high-quality music", but... you know, that would almost be an insult! This music is clearly made with a ton of passion, but it's also absolutely filthy, and those things together are what make a lot of black metal so great.
In terms of Christian bands, fans of Abdijah, Dark Endless, Wintersoul, Paleas Comburet Igni Inextinguibili, Nattesorg, Lucifer Impaled, etc will likely enjoy this.
In terms of secular bands, fans of Ildjarn, Bastard of Majesty Sin, Burning Apparition of the Master, Pa Vesh En, Light Am I, etc will likely enjoy this.
