Deeper Underground Lyrics

Oow
Yeah, you know they're gonna bring it down now
They're gonna wreck it down, yeah
Something's come to rock me
And I can't keep my head,
I get nervous in the New York City streets
Where my legacy treads.
I know I'm better off standing in the shadows,
Far from humans with guns,
But now it's too late, there's no escape
From what they have done.
Come on.
I'm going deeper underground,
There's too much panic in this town.
I'm going deeper underground,
There's too much panic in this town.
I'm going deeper underground,
But I got to go deeper, got to go much deeper,
yeah.
They gonna wreck it down, yeah.
Step do-do-do-do-dow-di-dow-di-di-down
Hey, yeah, we're gonna bring it down, yeah
Some people with a pocket full of money,
And an eye full of hate,
Take a pleasure in destruction of the very thing
That they tried to create.
Somebody tell me why does all mankind
Only tamper and touch?
Have a habit where they bite off more they can
chew,
And now it's too much.
I'm going deeper underground, hey ha
There's too much panic in this town.
I'm going deeper underground,
There's too much panic in this town.
I'm going deeper underground,
There's too much panic in this town.
I'm going, I'm going, I'm going deeper
underground.
I'm going, I'm going, I'm going deeper
underground.
I'm going, I'm going, I'm going deeper
underground.
I'm going, I'm going, I'm going deeper
underground.
Something's come to rock me
And I can't keep my head,
I get nervous in the New York City streets
Where my legacy treads.
I know I'm better off standing in the shadows,
Far from humans with guns,
But now it's too late, there's no escape
From what they have done.
I'm goin' deeper underground
There's too much panic in this town
I'm goin' deeper underground
I'm goin' deeper underground
(I'm goin', I'm goin', I'm goin', I'm goin', I'm goin', I'm goin')
I'm goin' deeper underground
(I'm goin', I'm goin', I'm goin', I'm goin', I'm goin', I'm goin')
I'm goin' deeper underground
(I'm goin', I'm goin', I'm goin', I'm goin', I'm goin', I'm goin')
(Got to go, got to deeper)
Deeper, deeper, yeah
I'm goin' deeper underground
(I'm goin', I'm goin', I'm goin', I'm goin', I'm goin', I'm goin')
(Got to go deeper)
I'm goin' deeper underground
(I'm goin', I'm goin', I'm goin', I'm goin', I'm goin')
I'm goin' deeper, gotta get down now)
(They're gonna bring it down, yeah)
I'm goin' deeper underground
(I'm goin', I'm goin', I'm goin', I'm goin', I'm goin', I'm goin')
(They're gonna bring it down now)
I'm goin' deeper underground

Jamiroquai is a funk/acid jazz band which formed in London, England, United Kingdom in 1992. The band currently consists of Jason Luis 'Jay Kay' Cheetham (vocals), Matt Johnson (keyboards), Rob Harris (guitar), Paul Turner (bass), Derrick McKenzie (drums) , Sola Akingbola (percussion), Lorraine McIntosh (backing vocals) and Hazel Fernandez (backing vocals). The name "Jamiroquai" is derived from the Native American Iroquois tribe, with which Kay has said he identifies philosophically, combined with 'Jam', as in musical jamming.

After Jay Kay auditioned unsuccessfully to be the singer of the Brand New Heavies, he decided to put together his own band. Jamiroquai's first single, "When You Gonna Learn?", was released in 1992 on the Acid Jazz label. Following its success, Kay signed a £1,000,000 eight-album record deal with Sony BMG Music Entertainment. The band enjoys worldwide popularity and is the best-known member of the early-1990s London-based acid jazz movement, alongside groups such as Incognito, Galliano, and Corduroy. Jamiroquai has since, however, moved in other musical directions.
