Delta Lyrics

Crosby/Stills/Nash Delta written by David Crosby
Waking stream of consciousness
On a sleeping street of dream
Thoughts like scattered leaves
Slowed in midfall to the streams
Of fast running rivers of choice and chance and time stops here
On the delta
While they dance while they dance
I love the child who steers this riverboat
But lately he's crazy for the deep
The river seems dreamlike in the daytime
Someone keeps thinking in my sleep
Of fast running rivers of choice and chance and time stops here
On the delta
While they dance while they dance
While they dance

Crosby, Stills & Nash is a pioneering folk/rock supergroup formed by David Crosby, Stephen Stills and Graham Nash - refugees from three 1960s bands: The Byrds, Buffalo Springfield, and The Hollies. The band is primarily known for their three-part vocal harmonies. They are strongly associated with the 1969 Woodstock Festival. They are commonly referred to by their initials CSN.

The trio's first eponymous album was released in May 1969 and was an immediate hit, spawning two Top 40 hit singles and receiving key airplay on the new FM radio format.

In late summer 1969, the trio expanded to a quartet with Neil Young with the name changing to Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young (commonly referred to by their initials CSNY).

In the years since, they have reformed as Crosby, Stills & Nash for several albums and tours.
