In Vice Versa is a post-hardcore/metalcore band from Bangkok, Thailand. The band was formed in 2014 with 4 members and they released one single. Shortly after they parted ways with their old vocalist only to pick up a new vocalist soon after. This vocalist was a unique situation, he was from the other side of the world. In Vice Versa became fairly known at the start because of the popularity of their female drummer, Muki, who has released several drum covers on YouTube, some of which reaching hundreds of thousands of views. Muki is well known in the Thai metal scene, and also fairly well known internationally, being mentioned on social media by several famous bands/people, as well as having many articles being written about her.

After successfully auditioning a new vocalist, Michael Lawler from the USA joined the band in 2015. This was a huge step for the band, and a drastic change that no one was certain of how it would work at first. Michael officially joined In Vice Versa shortly after the Northlane vocalist auditions, which he was one of the finalists in. Michael also started gaining some good exposure from his own YouTube channel, where several vocal covers can be heard.

Now it was time for the band to really start moving forward, and see how far it can take them. Releasing their first music video titled “Parasite” in 2015, proved to be a success in the eyes of the band. The song won 3rd place for the band in the Jared Dines Battle of the Bands Contest. The band’s social media outlets started to quickly grow again, and it seemed to be a fairly big deal that a Thai metal band had a female drummer, and a white singer from the USA. This motivated the band to really push forward and release an album. Before their debut EP album was released, they released a lyric video titled “Moonflower” and following that was another official music video titled “Rebirth.” The band was happy with the release of both of these songs so they decided to release their debut EP album titled “Empathy,” which contained 2 unheard songs. In Vice Versa has now started writing towards their full length album, which should be released early 2017. Read more on Last.fm.
