1) Graham Simpson (13 October 1943 - 16th April 2012) was an art rock musician who served as a founding member of Roxy Music. His bass work on the groups eponymous first album, released in 1972, played a distinctive role in developing the group's sound. Graham was a personal friend of frontman Bryan Ferry and helped coalesce the group around its initial line-up, serving as a sort of emotional glue.

Graham suffered from severe depression after his mother died of cancer in April 1972. He left the group and went on an international personal odyssey taking him to several different countries, including a stay at a Moroccan jail. He lived in relative obscurity for the rest of his days until his involvement in the well-received short film 'Nothing But The Magnificent’, premiered at the Portobello Film Festival in August 2010.

Graham summarized his group by saying: "Roxy Music were not so much a hybrid of musicians with different influences but were independent musicians with their own individual voice that work well together.”
