Echo Lyrics

I've been around, but I couldn't tell
Before I fell for you
I was a song that couldn't get out
Until you put me through

Sometimes we miss the things that
Life seems to throw our way
Because we haven't tuned our ears
To hear the record playin'
Behind my imperfections
Try to go through the noise
I stand a broken man
And long to be your voice

Cuz I don't miss wanna fall in love with you
No, I don't miss wanna fall in love with you
I wanna be an echo! I wanna be an echo!
I wanna be an echo! I wanna be an echo!
I wanna be an echo of you!

I see enough, I'm out of the clouds
With my radio in tune (you are the sun, you are the sun)
I hear you loud, over the crowd
Teach me to sound like you

Sometimes we miss the things that
Life seems to throw our way
Because we haven't tuned our ears
To hear the record playin'
Behind my imperfections
Try to go through the noise
I stand a broken man
And long to be your voice

Cuz I don't miss wanna fall in love with you
Eh, I wanna be an echo! I wanna be an echo!
I wanna be an echo! I wanna be an echo!
I wanna be an echo of you!

Woah oh oh oh
Woah oh oh
Woah oh oh oh
Woah oh oh
I wanna be an echo
Oh oh oh oh oh

I wanna be an echo! I wanna be an echo!
I wanna be an echo! I wanna be an echo!
I wanna be an echo of you!

Michael Colton Dixon (born October 19, 1991 in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, United States) is an American singer and a Top 13 finalist on the eleventh season of American Idol.

Originally rising to fame as lead singer in the Christian rock band, Messenger, formed in 2010, he became a favorite during the early auditions of American Idol. Dixon auditioned in the tenth season, along with his sister Schyler, at the Nashville auditions. However, neither of them ended up in the Top 24. After he was sent home, Dixon performed on The Ellen DeGeneres Show on March 3, 2011.

Dixon returned in season 11, however he did not plan to audition, initially planning to merely accompany his sister Schyler to her audition. The judges implored Dixon to audition as well, where he sang David Cook's "Permanent". Both he and Schyler were awarded golden tickets. Schyler was cut yet again during the Las Vegas round, which brought him to tears.

On February 23, 2012, Dixon was placed in the season 11 Top 25. In the semi-finals, he performed Paramore's "Decode". He was one of the top five male vote getters and advanced into the Top 13.
