Juan Jose Meza belongs to a highly musical family. Apart from singing and composing, he is a percussionist of congas, timbales and bongos. His father and teacher is Lisandro meza a well known Colombian artist for his long trajectory and for being a precursor of rhythms that have stayed in the musical culture of his people and for keeping his own style in and out of his country.

Juan Jose Meza dedicated ten years to his studies and to his musical preparation in Australia. Living in this country had the opportunity to share the same stages with famous bands that got him to get known as an excellent singer, composer and percussionist. Coming back to Colombia he studied in Bellas Artes (Barranquilla) where he acquired more knowledge of his Colombian music.

Juan Jose Meza has the opportunity of joining his father’s band Lisandro Meza. He starts to travel all around the world and gets to share stages with different international bands and to perform in different scenarios; where he learn to be more mature and had a good acceptance of the people.

Juan Jose Meza, decides to stay living in the EEUU and he is called to join different international bands like: Alci Acosta, Junior Gonzales, Aniceto Molina, Tito Gomez, Nelson y sus Estrellas, Los del Caney, Checo Acosta, Gabriel Romero, Latin Brothers, Estrellas de Grupo Niche, Los Corraleros de Majagual, Alfredo Gutierrez y muchos mas.

Trying to expand his frontiers and to maintain his father’s trajectory starts the idea of making his own musical production “Siguiendo Los Pasos” where he is thinking to offer to the public a fusion of his own folklore LA CUMBIA; with new rhythms and new original songs.

Juan Jose Meza observes that is through music that all Latinos maintain alive their cultures. For this reason and trying to please his people, he has done with this production a repertoire that would let everyone do remembrance those old times of reunions and parties in its countries and this way to please a diverse Latin public with different rhythms.
