Over the years, BandaBanda was fortunate to work with South African icons such as Madala Kunene, Busi Mhlongo, Bheki Mseleku, Sibongile khumalo, Thandiswa Mazwai, Hugh Masekela, Sandile Shange and was involved with the Barnyard Theatre for several years. The impact of all these amazing opportunities equipped and compelled him to work on his personal career, this is where he grew passionate about his own story and wrote original material. .
In 2015 he founded a project called “BandaBanda&TheCrocodiles” with the desire to collaborate with versatile musicians from different parts of the world. Musicianship, composition and production skill were the cornerstone of the vision he was able to showcase. The influence of African music, Funk, Latin and jazz is evident, this can be seen to draw from acts such as Sixun, Moses Taiwa Molelekwa, Joe Zawinul, Miles Davis, Manu Dibago, Salif Keita, Weather Report just to mention a few.c.
The Crocodiles consists of notable musicians, namely: Cameron Ward (Guitars SA), Sam Ibeh (Drummer Nigeria), Hadji Ndong (Percussions Senegal), Johan Mthethwa (Piano SA), Tich Makalisa (Piano Zimbabwe), John Hassan (Percussion Mozambique), Mthunzi Mvubu (Saxophone SA), Sibusiso Mkhize (Trumpet South Africa), Sisonke Xonti (Saxophone South Africa), Keke Lingo (Singer South Africa) and Sphiwe Nkabinde (Zulu Praise - Singer South Africa) whom he recorded with.
