Satellite Young is a synthpop act from Tokyo, Japan, consisting of vocalist/producer Emi Kusano, producer Bellemaison Sekine and dancer/VJ Tele Hideo. Combined with a contemporary spin on the sound of 1980s J-pop and sci-fi anime, their (mainly Japanese-language) lyrics tackle modern issues within the technology sphere including AI, online dating, and social media. Through collaborating with a wide range of international creators such as Kung Fury music director Mitch Murder, YouTube anime series “Senpai Club”, and Shanghai artist Lu Yang among many others, they’ve amassed a worldwide following. They were featured performers at SXSW in 2017.

MEMBERS:
Emi Kusano
From Tokyo. Born in the 90’s raised as a 80’s child. Since as a high school student, she was involved in wide ranges of enterprises, as she is a photographer, DJ, writer and web service deployer. She is a hybrid college student. Despite the fact of living in an inclined society, she has a strong passion for epidemical period. Yearning to generate the cons of infobesity, she became a singsong writer based on 80’s popular music.

Bellemaison Sekine
Synthesizer music lover, he is a sound maestro. He felt a strong passion for synthesizer sounds such as Jan Hammer and Tangerine dream in his early life. After experimenting with techno, house, break beats and electronica he started to create his music. His works were introduced to the public at underground clubs.

Tele Hideo
He is a multi-faceted musician and visual artist who wears a TV on his head. He was the third member added to the group and represents an iconic character that is both 80s-like and modern.
