Matthew Thiessen and the Earthquakes is the side project of Matthew Thiessen, lead singer, guitarist, and keyboardist of the band Relient K. The name itself is a joke, as there are no "Earthquakes"; the group is composed simply of Matthew Thiessen and his piano. Since 1998, Matthew Thiessen has not released an entire album but has found his way onto several compilations, including the 2006 release of "My Other Band" issued by Mono vs. Stereo.
