Freedom Lyrics

Ain't got no halo (ain't got no halo)
No wings to fly away (no wings to fly away)
I've got to labor (I've got to labor)
For many, many, days (for many, many, days)
I'm on a journey (I'm on a journey)
I'm looking for a place (I'm looking for a place)
To rest my burden (to rest my burden)
Far from this tyranny (far from this tyranny)
Oh oh oh oh
From the shores of Africa
Up to the doors to America
With voices, to Heaven
Praying for liberty

We cry freedom (freedom, freedom, freedom)
Said we cry freedom (freedom, freedom, freedom)
Yeah we cry freedom (freedom, freedom, freedom)
Yeah we cry freedom (freedom, freedom, freedom)

We marched in 'Bama (we marched in 'Bama)
We marched in Tennessee (we marched in Tennessee) (Tennessee?)
Brown men and white men (brown men and white men)
Stood for equality (stood for equality)
We kept our chin up (we kept our chin up)
We kept our diginity (we kept our diginity)
And our proclaimation (this proclamation)
Let everybody sing (let everybody sing)

Woah oh oh oh
From the shores of Africa
Up to the doors to America
With voices, to Heaven
Praying for liberty

We cry freedom (freedom, freedom, freedom)
Said we cry freedom (freedom, freedom, freedom)
Yeah we cry freedom (freedom, freedom, freedom)
Yeah we cry freedom (freedom, freedom, freedom)

Up on Golgotha (Up on Golgotha)
Hangin' upon a tree (hangin' on a tree)
They say the God-man (I'm told the God-man)
Died for my liberty (died for my liberty)

He heard me cryin'
From my captivity
And so He came down (and so He came down)
Down to deliver me

Woah woah woah oh
From the shores of Africa
Up to the doors to America
With voices, to Heaven
Praying for liberty

Our hearts cry freedom (freedom, freedom, freedom)
My heart cries freedom (freedom, freedom, freedom)
Your heart cries freedom (freedom, freedom, freedom)
His heart cries freedom (freedom, freedom, freedom)

Imma get my shout on (imma get my shout on)
Better dance like you're free!
