Andy Warpigs is a satirical Folk Punk/ geek rock band, as well as the name and persona of the eponymous lead singer/guitarist (Andy Warpigs.) Based out of Phoenix Arizona, they have played shows and festivals with folk acts like Ramshackle Glory, Mischief Brew, Chatterbox and the Latter-day Satanists, Matt Pless, Days N' Days, Jason Webley, and Danielle Ate the Sandwich. They collaborate frequently and employ various instrumentation and strange sarcastic covers, even going as far as to change genres mid song on whim. They have built a cult following in the southwestern United States as well as on the Internet for embodying a meme-esque sense of satire and irony and championing free thought, nerd culture, Afro punk, fourth wave feminism, drug use, and DIY ethics. Their debut album was produced by alt rapper Hotrock Supajoint and features Justin White formerly of Andrew Jackson Jihad on drums. Their follow up E.P. was self produced with the help of Scott Mitting from the band 20 Foot Neon Jesus. They collaborate frequently on releases from 56th Street Records and Tvlife Entertainment. Andy Warpigs also appears randomly as an actor or comic in local music videos and DIY stage productions.
