"Graham Czach is already a music lifer... The album swings between polar extremes, morphing from guitar-heavy, prog-rock jams like 'Hurry Up and Wait' into more tender fare like 'True Love,' a Paul McCartney-esque ballad bathed in lush strings." - Andy Downing (Chicago Tribune)
"[Graham is] an incredibly skilled musician, but is also sensitive to how a gripping melody can be just as effective as an impressive guitar solo. The music is thoughtfully arranged without sacrificing or diminishing the emotion that motivated the notes to pour out of each instrument" - Mixtape Muse
"...any guy who can sound like both Thom Yorke and David Gilmour is one vocally versatile dude... I can hear a lot of Muse and Radiohead" - Peter's Power Pop (AUS)
Versatile Chicago-based singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Graham Czach fuses modern and progressive rock sensibilities with pop-like hooks and socially conscious message-driven music. Having played music for the last 27 years, he is an original, wildly creative, and accomplished musician, composer, upright/electric bassist, vocalist, and guitarist.
The Chicago Music Award Winner's 2010 debut album Lucid featured: Kris Myers (Umphrey's McGee) on drums plus brilliant artwork by album artist Jeff Jordan (The Mars Volta). The upcoming sophomore release, Star By Star EP, is due out March 31st, 2015 with songs co-produced by Bjorn Thorsrud (Smashing Pumpkins), Manny Sanchez (Fall Out Boy), and Greg Magers (Lupe Fiasco) and has already garnered critical acclaim before it's official release. The EP was funded successfully through Kickstarter, raising almost $16,000. The seven songs were carefully selected from a bank of about 40-50 written over the last 3-4 years.
Citing influences such as The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Muse, Jeff Buckley, Tool, Coldplay, Mars Volta, and more, Graham Czach effortlessly mixes elements of classic psychedelic rock, progressive, and 90s grunge into a refreshingly unique sound driven by the bass and lead vocals. He states, "My influences and styles of music will naturally come out. I like the can't-put-your-finger-on-it mix. I've always wanted someone to be able to recognize my music after a couple seconds of hearing it by creating a signature sound."
Within the last few years since celebrating the release of his independent debut album Lucid, Graham Czach has toured the United States extensively as well as other parts of the world. He has also been a big part of The Windy City music scene for a number of years playing bass with Hey Champ, Chicago Afrobeat Project, the Chicago Diamond Trio, Secondhand Smoke (Sublime Tribute), and many other bands. Graham received a nomination for "Best Rock Entertainer" for the 2013 Chicago Music Awards and his originality/versatility as both a musician and composer have earned him endorsements from two internationally recognized music companies - D'Addario Strings and Eden Electronics/US Music Corp. Czach has also performed with the best in music including Grammy Award winners Paul Wertico, Howard Levy, and many others. He recorded double bass on Grammy winner Lupe Fiasco's album L.A.S.E.R.S.
Graham currently resides in Chicago while making the transition to Los Angeles, where his passion and philosophy behind the music is to touch, unite, and make a difference in people's lives by spreading lasting universal messages through the only universal language: music. Graham strives to bring about change for the better in humanity and beyond. He is also an inventor, movie buff, Converse sneaker collector, and beer and Scotch Whiskey connoisseur.
