Glorious Lyrics

You were shining in a white light
Like a fairy-tale movie star
Never really thought I would find Snow White
Drinking in a downtown bar

You were underneath the white light
Like a vision in a deep dark place
Never really thought I would fall for a country girl
With an angel's face

Everything fades away
The world changes every day
When I think about you
It makes me want to say

Glorious
Glorious
You are glorious

We were walking in the white sun
We were growing up and throwing down loud
There was silver in our eyes and we didn't know why
The power of the north so proud

We were lost inside a long dark summer
we were running down a nowhere road
Looking for a light in the middle of the night
A place that felt like home

I know everything fades away
The world changes everyday
When I think about you, and what we had
It makes me want to say

Glorious
You are to me (Glorious)
Yes, you are to me (Glorious)

I know this glorious life
Has never been what it seems
I was asleep when I was living the dream
Living the dream
I know I was living the dream

I think about the time in the city
We were running away trying to feel free
I could never believe
That you wanted to be with me

We'd wait in the cold for the last bus home
Sleeping with your arms around me
The truth is never what it seemed to be
I was living the life
When I should have been living the dream (Glorious)

Should've been living the dream (Glorious)
I know I should've been living the dream (Glorious)

I know I never understood how much you would mean to me
Now I know I was living the dream (Glorious)
I know I was living the dream (Glorious)
I know I know I was living the dream (Glorious)

I know this glorious life has never been what it seems to be
I was walking through life asleep when I was living the dream

Everclear is a rock band formed in Portland, Oregon, USA, in 1992. For most of its existence, Everclear consisted of Art Alexakis (b. 12 April 1962, Los Angeles, California, USA; vocals, guitar), Craig Montoya (b. 14 September 1970; bass, vocals) and Greg Eklund (b. 18 April 1970; drums). Eklund replaced original drummer Scott Cuthbert in 1994. Montoya and Eklund departed the band in 2003, but Alexakis has continued performing as Everclear with a new lineup.

After a solo tour in the fall of 2003, Alexakis decided to continue with Everclear, organizing a new band that made its debut in March of 2004. The new lineup consisted of bass player Sam Hudson, guitarist Dave French, and drummer Eric Bretl. In the summer of 2004, the band added keyboard player Josh Crawley, and swapped Bretl for former Everclear drum tech Brett Snyder. The new lineup released its first recording, a cover of Woody Guthrie's This Land Is Your Land, that summer. A self-released EP of performances recorded for XM Satellite Radio called Closure was given out at shows in the fall of 2004.

Free of a major label, Alexakis spent the ensuing year and half slowly recording material for a new Everclear release. He admitted that the time after the breakup of the original lineup served as a "wake up call", during which he suffered his third divorce and a filing for bankruptcy. Alexakis announced the completion of the album in early 2006,titled Welcome To The Drama Club. The new band is now on Eleven Seven Music.

In August of 2008, drummer Brett Snyder left the band after four years. He was then replaced by Tommy Stewart, who previously played in bands Fuel and Godsmack. Read more on Last.fm. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
