There are at least two acts sharing the name of "Ryder":

1) An indie artist from New York City;
2) A one-off group who represented the United Kingdom in Eurovision 1986.

1) Growing up in New York City, Ryder first started writing and singing music at the age of 3, her favorite genres then being Folk Music, Classical Music, and, Opera. At a young age she started messing around with instruments. Her parents quickly knew that their daughter was going to grow up to be somebody special.

By her mid-teenage years Ryder was traveling through the city of New York searching for recording studios where she could write and produce music. Soon working with famous recording producers like Dave Tozer who produced John Legend’s hit “All Of Me” and Angela Hunte who produced Jay Z’s “Empire State of Mind”

Later, she attended NYU along with other famous American Producers, DJ’s, and, Singers such as Felix Snow, and RL Grime.

In 2015 she released her first single, “Pretty Little Gangster,” after spending 5 long years writing the song. Large YouTube channels like Mr. Suicide Sheep and Paradise Music uploaded “Pretty Little Gangster” which amassed her a staggering 8 million views.

Ryder is currently working on her first EP which is expected to be released in mid 2018. The EP’s lead single “King” is a step in a new direction for Ryder, she is a pop singer on the rise.

2) Led by Maynard Williams (son of actor Bill Maynard), Ryder represented the United Kingdom in the 1986 edition of Eurovision. Their contribution, "Runner in the Night", placed seventh with 72 points, and peaked at #98 on the UK Singles Chart. Read more on Last.fm.
