Gravedancer Lyrics

She's all that I see.
And all that I breathe.
Take a breath and hold her in.
As her shadow's whispering.
I can here the laughter.
Knowing what they're after.
While she flies right beside me.
On many broken wings.

Take, take a look around.
She's a pretty good dancer.
She dances on my grave.
Everytime it goes down.
Everytime she comes down.
Everytime we fall down.
She dances all over me,

She's the world at my feet.
The sun that gives heat.
Take a rest and hold her near.
Or she'll float away from here.
Cause I'm knowing what your fearing.
And a sentimental jury.
And every mile that guides you.
I'll watch over everything.

Take, take a look around.
She's a pretty good dancer.
She dances on my grave.

Everytime it goes down.
Everytime she comes down.
Everytime we fall down.
She dances all over me.

And everytime that we feel it.
It's just another long wasted night.
And the dance that we do.
Is just another way for you to roll over me.
And the bed that we're sharing.

Is the home that I wanna bring you want to feel you.
I don't want to hear you.

Take, take a look around.
She's a pretty good dancer.
She dances on my grave.
Everytime it goes down.
Everytime she comes down.
Everytime we fall down.
She dances all over me.

Velvet Revolver is a hard rock supergroup formed in 2002 and consisting of former Guns N' Roses members Slash, Duff McKagan and Matt Sorum, alongside Dave Kushner formerly of punk band Wasted Youth. Stone Temple Pilots singer Scott Weiland was Velvet Revolver's lead singer from their formation until 2008. In 2004, the band achieved commercial success with their debut album, Contraband. Critics initially described Velvet Revolver as a mere combination of Stone Temple Pilots and Guns N' Roses, and criticized the band for a "disconnection" between Scott Weiland and the rest of the band. With their single Slither, they won the 2005 Grammy Award for Best Hard Rock Performance.

The band released Libertad in 2007, driven by the release of the single She Builds Quick Machines, and embarked on a tour with Alice in Chains. In April 2008, Weiland parted ways with Velvet Revolver and has since reunited with Stone Temple Pilots. Velvet Revolver has been on indefinite hiatus since April and in November 2008, the band was released by their record label RCA Records at their request to allow them "complete freedom to go through whatever process it would take to accomplish" replacing Weiland.

The release of Slash's solo album, Slash, and Duff McKagan's addition to the Jane's Addiction lineup seemed to put future of the band in doubt. However, they still remain optimistic about the future, with new songs written and plans to reconvene in 2011.

Although Velvet Revolver worked on new material and auditioned new singers following Scott Weiland's departure, the band has not released any new material and only performed publicly once since 2008, when they reunited with Weiland for a one-off reunion show on January 12, 2012 at a benefit concert. This proved to be their last performance together before Weiland's death on December 3, 2015. Slash and McKagan have since rejoined Guns N' Roses.

On December 3, 2015, Weiland was found dead on his tour bus around 9 pm, one day before he was to perform in Minnesota with his band The Wildabouts. Both Slash and McKagan have since rejoined Guns N' Roses Read more on Last.fm. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
