Born in Fall River, Massachusetts, on October 20th, 2001. Death.wav (born Drake Ceaser Bolding) was raised mostly by his mother. At the young age of 5, shortly before starting school, his father would be sent into prison and sentenced for 15 years leaving him with just his mother. Drake was an exceptional overachieving student in his early years. Consistently being student of the month in elementary school and receiving A's and B's early on during Middle School. It became during Middle School that Drake learned and experienced struggle and cruelty from classmates and people in general that led to his sadness, that would later evolve into a depression in his later teen years. Drake was a shy but respectful kid and had a habit of being the class clown in many of his classes and from a very early age developed a love for music. Drake credits his biggest inspiration to be from Kanye West, seeing him as a role model and father figure growing up. It would be during high school that Drake would also truly develop a sense of music taste and obtain a wide knowledge of many different assets of Hip-Hop and eras and styles and sub-genres. In late 2016/Early 2017 is when he, just like a lot of people at the time would discover XXXTENTACION through his song "Look At Me!". At first seeing it as it was, just a meme, he started to grow into it and genuinely like it. And over the next year he would start to listen to him and grow a connection to him and his music as he related to it. In mid 2017, one of Drake's best friends and right hand man, $incere, would really start making music to release to the public. $incere has always written rhymes and verses in his notebook that Drake had read some of. During which Drake decided that he would try to produce for him, watching a few YouTube videos and listening to the production of songs that he enjoyed, Drake would teach himself how to produce and make Hip-Hop beats. Shortly After his 16th birthday in 2017, a friend of both of them that Drake had met in a video game design class at school had started to release music, under the name "Indigo". Seeing all the attention that his friend was getting, he asked his friend about how he recorded his music and there, Drake would get his first mic and audio interface and starting actually recording and releasing music with $incere under the name "Dri77y The Dragon" Drake would eventually form something that would be more than just a collective in the form of 77, originally consisting of 5 members, Death.wav, $incere, Indigo, Pvnkrevenge, and Plague, now only consisting of Drake and $incere. Drake would eventually drop his first album, amateur produced and recorded, "The Love Triangle" after the death of XXXTENTACION, a death that affected him so much that he stopped all work on it and didn't finish it until almost a month later as July 18th, 2018 was the original release date. Later following up with the entirely self-produced album "UnKnown Temptation" then finally debuting on Spotify. It WOD be until 2020, that Drake would be a more dormant presence on the underground SoundCloud wave. In early 2020, Drake met and would join the small group 318 with members WALRD, Just Elijxh, hysteria (formerly, Guap Sensei) and Young Trixx. This group would eventually disband with the members still keeping in contact. Finally, in August of 2020, Drake would finally formally change his name from "Dri77y The Dragon" to the now infamous "Death.wav" that we know today. Read more on Last.fm.
