A song half written telling the story of an Irish hero is shuffled in the files of life's busy work. A young brother's inquiry about the song's status brings it to the forefront, and it is dug out of the clutter of daily life.

The song tells the story of a Great Uncle, the leader of a company of rebels in Wexford, Ireland during the Irish uprising of 1798. He was one of over 100,000 oath bound men across Ireland who bravely took on the task of reclaiming the land that rightfully belonged to them.

Moses "Mogue" Doyle was his name. The uprising was snuffed out. Mogue and dozens of other men were sent to prison. Mogue would eventually escape and flee to North America to the good fortune of all those whom he met and the two young men on their front porch in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Through them his memory lives, for they know that if he had not made it to North America they would not exist.

The unique personal energy that created the song Mogue Doyle is evident in every song the band Mogue Doyle produces. Their songs are lyrically potent concoctions, arranged with instruments in a traditional Celtic sound.

The combination of accordion, penny whistle, mandolin, tenor and five string banjo along with electric, acoustic, bass guitar and drums creates a sound that is both familiar and eclectic.
