Hang On Paul Lyrics

Someone's gonna tell you and it might be me
There's something on your face that even you can't see
It isn't your eyes and it isn't your nose
You don't have to sniff to tell you that it ain't no rose

It's something in your arrogant line
Your brain is tired of biding its time
You're gonna blow up here
So Paul you got to make up your mind

You drag into the studio and don't care why
You got a life as big as city hall and that's no lie
The aging owner treats you to a couple of beers
Feeding you clinches about the thing between your ears

You wonder if its all he can say
You'll find a better way to say it someday
But you're too busy stripping gears
Now Paul your life is dripping away

Hang in, hang out, hang on, hang on
Paul you're having a ball
It's your way of life and not mine
It's so strangely easy to see
But you're laughing so hard you could die

I'm not about to tell you what you should be doing
I tend to disappear when I smell trouble brewing
I understand exactly what's the matter with you
We're stranded here together in this paddle less canoe

I'll take my chances in the water for now
It's what my mother would have wanted anyhow
The life you're living is over
But Paul, you're no contented cow

They say being in show biz is a thrill
It makes your life a breeze
But you better do something
Paul before it kills you, yeah

Paul, you've got to make up your mind

Nazz is the name of more than one artist.
1) an early psychedelic garage rock band from the 1960s
2) German rapper

1) Nazz was an early psychedelic garage rock band from the 1960s. The band was formed in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1967 by Todd Rundgren (lead guitar) and Carson Van Osten (bass guitar). Thom Mooney (drums, formerly of the Munchkins) and Robert "Stewkey" Antoni (vocals, keyboard) joined before their first concert, opening for The Doors in 1967.
Marketed by their manager, Michael Friedman, as a teenybopper boy band, the Nazz signed with SGC Records, releasing Nazz in 1968. The album was not commercially successful and neither was the first single, "Hello It's Me". After a brief trip to England cut short due to visa problems, the Nazz recorded their second album, originally entitled Fungo Bat. (A fungo bat is a baseball bat used only for practice; it is not intended to hit pitched balls.) The album was originally a double album but was shortened to a single LP before being released as Nazz Nazz.At this point Jim Messinahad joined the team. Much of what was cut was Todd Rundgren's material, and he departed the group, along with Van Osten, and Jim Messina soon after.
With Stewkey in charge, Todd Rundgren's vocals in the old tapes were replaced by his own; the band released the unsuccessful Nazz III in 1970. Mooney soon left, eventually playing with a variety of groups including the Curtis Brothers, Tattoo, Fuse and Paris. Stewkey played with Fuse alongside Mooney for a brief period, but then left. Todd Rundgren went on to have a successful solo career. Ironically, his biggest solo hit was an up-tempo version of The Nazz' first unsuccessful single, "Hello It's Me". Read more on Last.fm.
