Harlem Knights Lyrics

Mechanized is mega nice
Where corner stores have front porches you can take photos of
Broken 40's and empty boxes of Mike and Ikes
Young kids wearing all types of designer Nikes
Riding on bikes with those lightning lime in clothes tucked inside
With more broccoli and chocolate in small zips of Duncan Hines
Cutting wires
Laced with fiber goggles
We were stealing gauze
Coming out of schools
Ringing alarms
So wetting teachers with Super Soakers
And doing the motions
Metal detectors were developed
In the event with kids really bringing in arms
Days cutting, seeing brothers swinging their little siblings in parks
We was in watching their little feet dangling in excitement
And when the cops came
You would swear that front of our gear, on our chest a small symbol of lightening
Nights wind blowing like a hawk
Battling with the dark
Night vision installed
You swear that front of our guild
On the trust of a small symbol of lightening

I'm so brown
I might be the color blue
The shade of the color of night is my hue
I am the axis that all men thought he knew
My magnetism binds like a glue
Boo (boo)
I am not a spook
When the smoke disappears show me a tree without a root
These girls is like Frankenstein
They got fake hair, fake nails, and monster behinds
I was on the cave with Jabril and the spider
You was in the cave on all fours looking for fire
That's right I fight cavemen
Cause I am the original seed of Abraham
React now
I got a two piece like Pacquiao in the dead on winter
My two steps like Mayweather
My forearms is like Foremen
Swing at your grill with the weight of four men
My uptown anthem is known to make downtown niggas throw tantrums Yo
Yo

Cannibal Ox is a New York hip-hop duo made up of Vast Aire and Vordul Mega, with El-P, the founder of the Definitive Jux label, handling the lion's share of production. Their first record,The Cold Vein, has been heralded as a major turning point in both hip-hop production and lyrical organization. Several notable guests appear on the album, including C-Rayz Walz, L.I.F.E. Long, Alaska (of Hangar 18), Cryptic One and El-P himself, while Vordul's baritone and Vast's nasal-y styles connect the eclectic project together.

For a while, the group was rumored to have disbanded. In 2003 however, fellow Definitive Jux rapper MURS said, "By the way, Can Ox is not broken up, it's just a rumor" between tracks on fellow Definitive Jux rapper Aesop Rock's album Bazooka Tooth. November 2005 brought the release of a live album, Return of the Ox: Live at CMJ, in the liner notes of which is the statement "Look out for the new full length LP by Cannibal Ox Summer of 06."

In addition to El-P, legendary producers Pete Rock and The RZA have reportedly signed on to contribute to the project. DJ Mighty Mi, who collaborated with Vast Aire in 2005, would be a likely producer as well.

Cannibal Ox is once again reportedly broken up for good, however; as of 2008 El-P commented that the two emcee's from the group have been unable to put anything together either in music or in their personal lives. Both artists have been pursuing successful solo careers, with two albums each under their respective belts. Read more on Last.fm.
