1) Green is a power pop band from Chicago, USA.
Biography (by Steve Huey - www.allmusic.com)
Chicago power pop band Green were formed in the mid-'80s by guitarist/singer/songwriter Jeff Lescher, whose influences included the Kinks, T. Rex, and soul music. Although such albums as Green (1986) and Elaine MacKenzie (1988) were fairly popular in Holland, Green didn't have much exposure in their home country. Arriving in 1991, White Soul marked a peak in songwriting, although its unfocused 1992 follow-up, The Pop Tarts, was half power pop and half grunge in an attempt to gain a wider audience. The three-song Le Pathetique EP arrived in 1993, after which the band fell silent. After the turn of the millennium and some changes in the band's lineup, Green re-emerged with Eau de Vie in 2001 and The Planets in 2009.
