Born and raised in Nashville, TN, Ardamus (also known as Artemis Thompson) was always addicted to doing hip hop music. He blames it on the Raps Greatest Hits, Eric B. & Rakim, and N.W.A. tapes his sister would have around and let him hear from time to time. As time went on, Ardamus would soon develop a taste for the microphone and write raps at the age of 8. In between mimicking break dance moves he would see on Beat Street and rap videos, it was nothing more than something he did to make his parents worry and his friends laugh. Matter of fact, he wrote his very first rap in church; after years of bad influences, he decided to “expand” his writing over the years. Growing up on such hip hop artists as Too $hort, Brand Nudian, Pharcyde, Masta Ace, and etc., Ardamus began developing more of his writing skills over the years. Battling in freestyle circles, doing shows with performance groups, and performing in talent shows became second nature.

By the age of 17, Ardamus ended up in Washington, DC at Howard University for college. But he did not know that he would sharpen the skills of an emcee more. As years passed, Ardamus became known as one of the premiere emcees on campus. He was part of an emcee battle called Verbal Armageddon that inducted him into the Hall Of Fame and also became part of a crew called Ladder-Day Saints. Also, from trips back and forth from Nashville to DC and, Ardamus completed his first project ever entitled “Life Is A Humbling Experience”. It was an experimental piece backed up by production from Seth Nations and was recorded at Slipstream Studios. Ardamus released this project when he was one of the first participants to receive the DC Young Artists grant. Outside of the realm of Howard, Ardamus did performances with Spoken Resistance; which was a youth arts group that dealt with social change. Upon that connection, Ardamus met Cheri Latson and formed as Sitcalm. The duo recorded an EP entitled Commercial Free that is now unreleased.

Today, Ardamus is still pushing his debut album, When Nothing Goes Right, which has received praise from critics and gained him so new fans (airplay on XM Radio). In the midst of recording this project, Ardamus has completed a project with producer, The Metaphysical, entitled A Day In The Life Of Modern Day Living, a mixtape entitled When Everything Goes Wrong 2.0, and the Ardaplus (Ardamus and Double Plus) album entitled A Fistful Of Plutonium. Ardamus also has recently collaborated with producers C-Royal, Res Nullius and Weirdo of Crazeology Fam (Italy), and Babytraxx (France) contributing to their projects. Read more on Last.fm.
