Higher and Higher Lyrics

Day by day
Can't find a reason for the mess I've made
I believe that I could find my way living without you
O, my love, I've got excuses for the things I've done
But you won't believe them so I'll bite my tongue
Now I'm without you
I've been down on my love
Looking for shelter in the arms of a crook
Stole my fire
Are you weary and tired
But I feel you taking me higher and higher
Higher and higher
Hold me close
Make me believe you'll never let me go
Heaven knows I am a troubled soul, when I'm without you
Heaven knows
I've been down on my love
Looking for shelter in the arms of a crook
Stole my fire
Are you weary and tired
But I feel you taking me higher and higher
Higher and higher
Is there something to say or have we said it all
If I asked you to stay would you stay all night
I've come looking for shelter in the wrong arms
Wrong arms
I've been down on my luck
Looking for shelter in the arms of a crook
Stole my fire
Are you weary and tired
But I feel you taking me higher and higher
Higher and higher (4×)
You take me higher and higher
Is there something to say
Higher and higher
Or have we said it all
You take me higher and higher
Is there something to say
Higher and higher
Or have we said it all

Formerly known as Tendertraps, Scars On 45 is an indie/acoustic band consisting of members Danny (vocals/guitar), Aimee (vocals), Nova (piano), Stu (bass), Matt (guitar), and Chris (drums). The band originates from Leeds/Bradford in the UK. The Heart On Fire Songfacts states that after being ignored by the British music industry for a number of years, the band secured a deal with the US with Chop Shop Records, a division of Atlantic Records. The label is owned by Alexandra Patsavas, who is the music co-ordinator for Grey's Anatomy and she chose "Heart On Fire" to promote the 2011-12 season of the ABC medical drama series.
