Dancing Heals is melodramatic popular song. Combining the youthful passion of soaring synths and crystal acoustics layered with the subtlety of red wine inebriation; the music lies somewhere between the thump of Arcade Fire and the delicacy of Nick Drake.

It’s easy, inviting and layered for a thousand listens.

The band was born in 2008 from a collection of seasoned Melbourne musicians. Having instruments ranging from electric and acoustic guitars, hammonds and synths, to live drums and samples, the songs take on their own depth without conforming to any one particular trend.

Taking a short break from Melbourne in April 2009, Dancing Heals’ Jon-Lee took the song acoustic to North America – first up alongside Youth Group in New York City and then further shows in New York, Los Angeles and Vancouver. Back in Melbourne and currently recording their debut album (ready for release in early 2010), Dancing Heals are a fresh, but accomplished face on the scene. Read more on Last.fm.
