v01d is the project of Toronto’s Joseph Byer. With influences ranging from Faith No More to Pop Will Eat Itself to Haujobb, v01d is a mixture of the more cerebral elements found in techno, rock, hiphop, dubstep and drum’n'bass.

2009 was a fruitful year for v01d, seeing the release of his first single Weakener, his first full-length release This is Not a False Alarm Anymore and its companion album Burnt Upon Re-Entry.

In addition to v01d, joseph has worked as a collaborator in Ayria, with Jennifer Parkin. Over the years, he has filled many roles including live keyboardist, collaborator, remixer, as well as co-producing and programming 2005’s Flicker. In 2009, Ayria returned the favour, by offering up guest vocals on v01d’s Weakener single (Weaken Us and Weaken Her versions).

v01d’s first album, This is Not a False Alarm Anymore, along with its companion Burnt Upon Re-Entry, were released on November 24 2009.
