How Did He Love You Lyrics

Wake up in the morning to our song
It's torture 'cause I left the radio on
Don't wanna turn it off reminiscing about you
I guess I'm gonna leave the damn thing on
'Cause it's sitting across the room

I've gotta spend my days working hard
To come home to myself
Trying to get you out of my mind, oh girl

Thinking of the things we used to do
I try to compensate for you
But nothing seems to work
Baby, can I ask you

How did he love you?
Does he want you?
Does he wake up in the night
Just to stare at you asleep?

Does he hold you?
Does he flaunt you?
Does he do it, do it
Like we did it back at home
At home, at home?

Just thinking about the way that we made love
Just layin' all day and squeezin' each other tight, yea
I miss those days, oh baby, would you bring them back
It's not right for me tonight, baby

How does it feel to know
You hurt someone so bad, now baby
How do you live with yourself, oh girl

You're probably out there
Having fun with your other man
Well I don't give a damn, baby
Come back to me, girl

How did he love you?
Does he want you?
Does he wake up in the night
Just to stare at you asleep?

Does he hold you?
Does he flaunt you?
Does he do it, do it
Like we did it back at home
At home, at home?

How did he love you?
Does he want you?
Does he wake up in the night
Just to stare at you asleep?

Does he hold you?
Does he flaunt you?
Does he do it, do it
Like we did it back at home
At home, at home?

I don't give a damn where you are, oh, girl
Baby, come back home to your man
Home to your love, I must be a fool, girl, oh

I don't understand why you left, no
Please justify your reason then come back
Please come back

How did he love you?
Does he want you?
Does he wake up in the night
Just to stare at you asleep?

Does he hold you?
Does he flaunt you?
Does he do it, do it
Like we did it back at home
At home, at home?

How did he love you?
Does he want you?
Does he wake up in the night
Just to stare at you asleep?

Does he hold you?
Does he flaunt you?
Does he do it, do it
Like we did it back at home
At home, at home?

How did he love you?
Does he want you?
Does he wake up in the night
Just to stare at you asleep?

Does he hold you?
Does he flaunt you?

After 7 was an R&B group, founded in 1988 by brothers Melvin and Kevon Edmonds and Keith Mitchell. The Edmonds brothers are the older siblings of popular pop and R&B singer-songwriter Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds" while Mitchell is the cousin of Babyface's then-partner, songwriter-producer Antonio "L.A." Reid.

The band released their first album issued self-titled debut in autumn 1989, which included the hits, "Sayanora", "Heat of the Moment", "Can't Stop" and the quiet storm staple, "Ready or Not". After promoting the album and seeing it go to platinum, they scored a hit with the Motown-influenced "Nights Like This" on the 1991 soundtrack to The Five Heartbeats. The trio returned with 1992's Takin' My Time, which included the hit cover of The Originals' "Baby I'm For Real". The trio released their last album, with Reflections, in 1995, which included the hit, "'Til You Do Me Right". After Mitchell split from After 7 in 1997, the Edmonds brothers continued performing, releasing the cover of Hall & Oates' "Sara Smile" before silently disbanding that year.

The brothers continue to perform in venues for reunions. Both Kevon and Melvin Edmonds appear with Babyface in the film Soul Food, as members of the R&B group Milestone and performing the song "I Care About You". In 1999, Kevon Edmonds released a solo LP, which included the single "24/7." In 2006 they appeared on the New Jack Reunion Tour. Read more on Last.fm.
